Our Mission

Water polo athletes do a lot of their development with their teams. Prep2Play was built to support that work by giving athletes another place to study the game, ask questions, and learn from people who have competed at the highest levels.

Our mission is to make high level film study, mentorship, strength guidance, nutrition education, and recruiting support easier to access for serious athletes and families.

Every session is designed to help athletes understand the game more clearly, make better decisions, and bring what they learn back to their team environment.

Access

Game IQ

Film based teaching that helps athletes understand what elite players see, why they make decisions, and how to apply those lessons in games.

Support

Guidance around strength, nutrition, recruiting, and the habits that help athletes keep developing outside normal practice.

Real Families. Real Progress.

Families are seeing athletes stay engaged, improve their understanding of the game, and keep learning outside normal practice.

My 9 year old son has been working with Prep2Play for the last several months and has had an incredible experience so far. He has been receiving online coaching and video review of his water polo games as well as strength and conditioning coaching. The coaching is high level and has helped him improve tremendously. The coaches and have done an amazing job to meet him at his level and tailor the programming to meet his needs. Working remotely with a 9 year old is not the easiest, but the coaches do a fantastic job of keeping him fully engaged throughout the entire session. He loves spending time with the coaches and wants to continue to work with Prep2Play to help him continue to achieve his water polo goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about the Prep2Play membership, live sessions, replays, personal film review, and college water polo.

MEMBERSHIP AND PLATFORM

What is included in a standard Prep2PlaySports membership?

A standard membership gives your athlete access to live group sessions, the full replay library, recruiting talks, film breakdowns, strength and conditioning sessions, nutrition guidance, and performance resources. Athletes can join live to ask questions or watch recorded sessions later on their own schedule.

How is one on one film review different from the standard membership?

The standard membership teaches through live group sessions and a full replay library. One on one film review is more personal. Your athlete sends in their own game film and meets privately with a mentor who breaks down their decisions, mistakes, strengths, and next steps.

Who is one on one film review for?

One on one film review is for athletes who want personal feedback on their own game. After a tournament, club game, or high school game, your athlete can send in their film and meet privately with a mentor who helps them understand what to fix, what to keep doing, and what to focus on next.

Is this safe for middle school athletes?

Yes. Our strength and performance sessions are built around age appropriate training, movement quality, mobility, shoulder health, and injury prevention. Athletes are always encouraged to train at the level that fits their age, experience, and current ability.

WATER POLO AND RECRUITING

When should a water polo athlete start the college recruiting process?

Families aiming for competitive college programs should start learning the process early, often around 8th or 9th grade. That does not mean every athlete needs to contact coaches right away. It means they should begin building good habits: collecting film, improving strength and conditioning, learning how recruiting works, and tracking academic progress.

What do college water polo coaches look for in recruits?

Coaches look for more than goals and highlights. They want athletes with strong game IQ, coachability, communication, effort, academic readiness, and the ability to make good decisions under pressure. They also want athletes who show genuine interest in their program and communicate professionally.

What is the difference between D1, D2, and D3 water polo?

D1 is usually the highest level of college competition and often comes with the largest time commitment. D2 can still offer strong competition and athletic scholarship opportunities. D3 does not offer athletic scholarships, but many programs offer strong academics, need based aid, and a more balanced college experience. The best level depends on the athlete’s goals, academics, roster opportunity, and fit.

How do I improve my water polo skills faster?

Fast improvement comes from consistent practice, better film study, smart training, and feedback from people who understand the level you are trying to reach. Prep2Play helps athletes keep learning between practices through live film breakdowns, replay access, strength guidance, nutrition education, and optional one on one film review.
